How to Make Honey Vanilla Homemade Almond Milk: Almond Milk Ingredients Are Simple

Did you know how easy it is to make your own almond milk? This Honey Vanilla Almond Milk is an absolutely delicious drink to add to your coffee, lattes, or can even be enjoyed by itself (yep, it’s that good!). I started making almond milk at home after realizing how easy it is to make, and how much cleaner the ingredients are when you make it from home (no additives!).

After diving into it on Google and social media, I thought there was no way almond milk could be so easy to make. All you need are almonds, water, a blender, and a cheesecloth or nut bag (or even a thin towel will do!).

What Tools You’ll Need To Make Almond Milk

The main thing that I was confused about when first making almond milk was… what tools do I need? I have seen social media ads for special pitchers that make almond milk for you, but I figured there has to be a more cost-effective way! After digging into it, I came across these nut milk bags and haven’t looked back! They make it super easy to strain almond milk, and you can use them to make juices as well if you don’t have a juicer.

If you don’t have a nut milk bag, you can use a thin towel or cheesecloth as well. If almond milk making becomes a weekly thing for you like it is for me, I definitely recommend investing in a nut milk bag because they’re reusable and less-messy than a cheese cloth or towel!

A blender and strainer are the other tools that you’ll need to make your own homemade almond milk! I prefer to use a stand-up blender because you can fill it more than a magic bullet (don’t get me wrong, I love my bullet, but for this recipe, it doesn’t quite cut it). Any strainer will do because you’ll only use it to strain the water from your almond after soaking them.

How To Store Homemade Almond Milk

Once your almond milk is delicious and ready for the fridge, transfer it to a pitcher (I prefer a glass pitcher to keep it cool and fresh for as long as possible). Make sure you cover your almond milk so that it keeps as long as possible, and nothing falls into it while it’s stored. Your almond milk will keep for up to a week in the fridge!

Description

This is the most delicious homemade Honey Vanilla Almond Milk that is so easy to make and doesn’t contain any additives!

Ingredients

Scale

Almond Milk Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 c Almonds
  • 3 c Fresh Drinking Water
  • 34 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract (or vanilla bean paste)
  • Pinch of Salt

Instructions

1. Rinse your almonds: Start by measuring out your almonds and rinsing them thoroughly with water in a strainer to get any excess debris off the outside before soaking them.

2. Soak your almonds: Add your rinsed and strained almonds to a large bowl then add in fresh water. For this step, you’ll want to make sure that all of the almonds are fully submerged. Place plastic wrap over your bowl and allow your almonds to soak for at least 2 hours, or overnight if possible.

3. Add your flavor and blend your almond milk: Strain your soaked, softened almonds and add them to your blender with fresh water, honey, vanilla, and salt to a blender and blend until smooth.

4. Strain your almond milk: Using a nut milk bag or cheesecloth, strain your almond milk over a large bowl until your milk is completely separated from the almond pulp. Store in the fridge for up to 7 days!
