The Easiest Reeses Spider Cookies for Halloween!
If you were to invite me to a Halloween party, you can expect me to show up with a plate full of cute and spooky spider cookies for Halloween to celebrate! These cookies are so easy and delicious to make, and will make your party host feel so special that you got crafty for their occasion!
These cookies are a perfect thing to make with kids – your little ones will have so much fun decorating these, and will love eating them after!

Low Effort Halloween Cookies, High Effort Look
I love bringing these Halloween cookies to parties because they look like something that required a lot of time, but they actually come together so much quicker than they appear. The thing that takes the longest is baking the cookie base. For these, I used my favorite Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe from Broma Bakery and removed the chocolate chips, but you can also use whatever cookie recipe you’d like! I have also made these using a peanut butter cookie base before and they’re fantastic.
For the actual peanut butter spiders, you’ll just need bite size Reeses cups. You’ll want to unpack each cup ahead of time so you can press them into your cookies while the centers are still soft. Just make sure the cookies aren’t still too warm or the chocolate will melt over.
For the legs, I used a chocolate hazelnut spread and finished my spiders off with white chocolate chip eyes! You’ll add the chocolate spread into a piping bag with a small tip, or a plastic bag and just cut the tip off, and pip the legs into whatever shaped lines you want! Use the same bag to dot little eyes onto each of the white chocolate eyeballs.

Gifting These Adorable Spider Halloween Cookies
These cookies are also an adorable gift to give out during spooky season! Add them to a Boo Basket for a friend or neighbor, or send a few to your favorite school teacher! They’re so cute they’ll be hard to eat, but once someone tries them they won’t be able to get enough!
When I’m gifting cookies, I love to run to Home Goods or Hobby Lobby and grab a cute box with a window lid so the cookies are visible even when the box is closed. I always throw some extra Reeses candy in the box along with the cookies because, well, who doesn’t love Reeses!
Other Halloween Cookie Ideas
If you want to make an alternative cookie that doesn’t contain peanut butter, swap out the Reese’s for chocolate Lindt truffles or Hershey’s kisses instead. Simple press the chocolate of your choice into the cookie like you would the Reese’s, and affix your white chocolate eyeballs the same way.
How to Make Spooky Spider Halloween Cookies
Here’s how to make these super easy and cute Halloween Cookies:
Bake off Your Cookie Dough: Bake your favorite chocolate chip cookie dough recipe, but ditch the chocolate chips – the Reeses spider and chocolate hazelnut spread will account for that extra chocolate flavor. (I love using my favorite Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe from Broma Bakery and just don’t add the chocolate chips, of course!).
Prep Your Spider Ingredients: While your cookies are cooling, unwrap your bite size Reeses candies (if necessary). You’ll also want to have your white chocolate chips ready, and add your hazelnut spread to a small piping bag or plastic sandwich bag with the tip cut off so that you can pipe your spider’s legs and eyes.
Assemble Your Spiders: Once your cookies are cooled off but still soft in the middle, press your bite size Reese cups into the center of each cookie. Pipe 4 squiggly lines coming from the base of the Reese cup to the edge of the cookie. Repeat on the other side for a total of 8 spider legs. Push your white chocolate chips into the Reeses cups to make the whites of your spider eyes (if they don’t easily push in, use some chocolate hazelnut spread to affix them). Dot each eye with the chocolate hazelnut spread and make a smile to finish it off.
Enjoy!
