Description

These Spider Cookies for Halloween are delicious, easy to make, and the perfect Halloween baking activity to do with kids! These can be made with mini Reese’s cups, Lindt truffles, or Hershey’s kisses, too!

Ingredients

For the Spider Cookies:

  • Bite Size Reeses
  • White Chocolate Chips
  • Chocolate Hazelnut Spread

For the Cookies – use your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe, minus the chocolate chips.

Instructions

  1. Bake off Your Cookie Dough: Bake your favorite chocolate chip cookie dough recipe, but ditch the chocolate chips – the Reeses spider and chocolate hazelnut spread will account for that extra chocolate flavor. (I love using my favorite Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe from Broma Bakery and just don’t add the chocolate chips, of course!).
  2. Prep Your Spider Ingredients: While your cookies are cooling, unwrap your bite size Reeses candies (if necessary). You’ll also want to have your white chocolate chips ready, and add your hazelnut spread to a small piping bag or plastic sandwich bag with the tip cut off so that you can pipe your spider’s legs and eyes.

  3. Assemble Your Halloween Cookies: Once your cookies are cooled off but still soft in the middle, press your bite size Reese cups into the center of each cookie. Pipe 4 squiggly lines coming from the base of the Reese cup to the edge of the cookie. Repeat on the other side for a total of 8 spider legs. Push your white chocolate chips into the Reeses cups to make the whites of your spider eyes (if they don’t easily push in, use some chocolate hazelnut spread to affix them). Dot each eye with the chocolate hazelnut spread and make a smile to finish it off.
